### House Location
- The house is 150m from the seashore, 300m to ammoudeli beach
- The house is within 80m of the port, many restaurants, cafes, and shops.
- The house has 1 bedroom with 160x200 double bed, an eat-in kitchen.
It has been renovated in 2024 to a high standard for self-use and short-term rental.

### Amenities
- Kitchen with 4 induction plates, electric oven, microwave, all kitchen ustensils.
- washing machine room and toilets and sink on ground floor
- House has broadband internet throughout, the wifi password is 88888888
- TV room and one double bedroom on 1st floor. This is a smart TV with youtube.

- desk area and cupboards.

### House use
- If yo get sand from the beach on your feet or swimming suit, please wash in the little water basin outside the house
- Espresso machine is traditional type, buy ground coffee.
- Use airtight containers to put cooked food items in fridge, let cooked food cool down before putting in the fridge
- Wait for hot pots and pans to cool down before washing
- Make sure when loading dishwasher that glass items are safe and lower washer can turn freely
- Do not put any cutting board or wood ustensils or sharp kitchen knifes or cast iron skillet in the dishwasher, as it destroys wood, the edge of the knife, or seasoning of cast-iron
- please the coaster for glasses to avoid water stain
- Do not put hot pot and pans directly on the kitchen plan, use the provided cork hot pads
- Do not put anything directly on the marble countertop for long and wipe out to avoid any water stain.
- Do not flush women of sanitary towels in the toilet, use the small bin provided. Toilets can be used with toilet paper as in Western countries. For more advanced users from Asia,
they also have bidet tap on the left and cleaning hose on the right as per Asian standard, do not use bidet tap unless sitting on toilet seat, keep toilet hose tap closed to avoid putting
the flexible pipe under constant pressure. If you decide to try it, be very tactful with that hose tap to avoid splashing dirty water.
- Do not use all high electric power items (cooking plates, oven, washing machine, aircon) at the same time to avoid circuit break


### Save the Earth
- Lesvos has excellent local wild seafood and vegetables, enjoy.
- Water shortage can occur, the house has a hot water tank and cold water tank with a pump to avoid inconvenience
- Tap water is drinkable, use kettle on induction plate to boil and isotherm stainless steel water bottle is only for hot water, to avoid reheating water for tea
- Hot tap water is heated by solar energy, use as much as you need
- Every 5 room has air conditioning. Only use air conditioning if someone is in the room, and better spend time together in during day time when you can.
Electricity for A/C is generated by a diesel power plant in Mytilini, it is expensive and not good for environment.
- Preferred temperature for mosquitos is 21C to 28C. You can use repellant or wear light colored covering cloth when the air is at these temperatures
- Do not leave food for street cats anywhere near the house
- Garbage and recycling: near the port: Please clean glass bottles and containers to throw away, same for cardboards, metals, and pet bottles, Other garbage should be thrown away
in the metal garbage cans with foot pedal electrically activated lid near the port
- There are roaches in the village and we don't want them in the house. Keep all foodstuff in the fridge or in airtight containers, wash dishes and
clean-up any crumb from table immediately after meal if you cook in the home, throw away food garbage daily after last dinner.

## Getting there
- Inform the contact when you plan to arrive in Plomari and arrange to meet with him at the port near the taxi parkings, he will show you the house from there.
- The place is very walkable, I usually don't rent a car or bike when staying in Plomari in the house,
you can arrange to rent for the day you arrive, or on days you want to do day trips. See contact for car rental below.

## Lesvos, Mytilini and Plomari
- Lesvos is one of the best kept secret of Greece, it is far away from Athens and near the Turkish coast, which is more developped
- Lesvos island is bigger than Malta, it produces a lot of agricultural products, incl. olives, fruit and vegetables, milk products, meat and fish
- Mytilini, the island capital, is considered the best city for business in Lesvos, Plomari is viewed as the best city for holiday

### Coming to Plomari: Regular connections
The main access to Lesvos island from Greece is arriving in Mytilini by airplane from Athens (1hr flight) or ferryboat from Piraeus (1 day cruise).
The island can also be accessed from Turkiye by ferry from Ayvalik (1h15 or 1h30 cruise), the nearest airport to Ayvalik is Edremit, followed by 30min of Taxi. There are regular inexpensive flights from Istanbul to Edremit. If you have a car in Turkiye, coming by ferry is an attractive possibility.

Once in Mytilini, a 50 minutes car journey is required to reach Plomari. There is also a bus service, with a journey time of 1h30.
The road is long and has many turns, we advise driving during daytime if going there for the first time, and using GPS.
- Car can be rented from Mytilini Airport or Ferry port to be handed back at Plomari port: rental 50 eur/day in Jul-Aug, 20 eur/day off season
- Taxi cost: 50 to 60 eur (confirm with radiotaxi)
- Bus (42 person bus) cost 5 euro per person, bus has luggage space, departure times from Mytilini are 13:00 and 15:00. From Plomari, 7:00, 8:00 and 16:00.

### Coming to Plomari: Seasonal Charter flight
In summer, charter flights operate from Denmark, Sweden and Israel.
From Turkiye, direct ferryboat connection from Izmir to Plomari, and a direct flight operated by Pegasus from Istanbul to Mytilini was announced.

## Beaches in Plomari
- Ammoudeli Beach: nearest to the house, on the right of the port when going towards the sea
- Plomari Agio Isidoros Beach: on the left of the port when going towards the sea
- Agios Isidoros Beach: the best beach clubs on the island, 20min by walk, or much shorter by walk or car
- Melinda beach. It’s a quiet and peaceful place that has 2 taverns called “Psaros” and “Maria” with delicious sea food.
- Another beach is “Panagia Kryfti” that is actually a small church and you dive from the cliff. The sea was warmer than the others but you have to walk there for at least 10minutes downhill.
- Tarti beach: another exceptional natural environment

## Restaurants, Cafes and Shops
- Cafe Serafino and Platanos Taverna under the shade of a multi-centenial plane tree (platano)
- Mama Katerina by Ammoudelli beach for best fish/seafood of the day
- Platannos Taverna for excellent mexican avocado salad, moussaka
- Mythos pizzeria on the port for best pizza
- All Tavernas near the port have nice greek food, choose the one you like for the day
- special mention from guests: “Gyros 5F” and “emBEERies” for beer and burgers and both of them are at the center of Plomari.
- Vegetable shop, milk shop, butcher, dress shops, pharmacies near the port for local products
- Supermarket matsouris: food and drink on ground floor, suncream, beach products and washing products on 1st floor.
