UME House is a charming 23 m² two-story Kyoto home, thoughtfully arranged to make the most of its compact space while offering everything needed for a comfortable stay.

On the ground floor, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with a warm wooden dining table, as well as a separate shower room and toilet. The simple, functional layout makes the house comfortable for everyday living, including longer stays.

The second floor offers two distinct spaces. A small bedroom with a semi-double (SD) futon also includes an office desk, creating a convenient space for working or studying from home. Next to it is a traditional tatami room with a queen-size futon, combining Japanese-style living with a generous and comfortable sleeping space.

Natural light enters throughout the house, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere while retaining the calm, intimate character of a traditional Kyoto home.

Location & Neighborhood

UME House is tucked in a quiet residential alley beside a beautiful canal lined with sakura trees. The canal runs north to south and offers a peaceful walking route, with lovely greenery and seasonal blossoms.

Kyoto Imperial Palace is only about a 7-minute walk away, providing easy access to one of Kyoto’s largest green spaces—perfect for walking, jogging, cycling, picnics, or simply relaxing in the gardens.

Despite its peaceful setting, the house is exceptionally convenient for daily life. Three major supermarkets are within approximately a 5-minute walk, making it particularly practical for mid- and long-term stays.

Nijo Castle is also nearby, together with a traditional local mochi shop and a lively neighborhood shopping street where you can discover independent shops, old and new cafés, pop-up galleries, live music, and other local favorites.

UME House offers a balance that is increasingly difficult to find in central Kyoto: a quiet residential setting, traditional Japanese atmosphere, everyday convenience, and easy access to some of the city’s most important cultural and green spaces.

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.

However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
