Hi, I’m Giles. Originally born in the maritime city of Portsmouth, UK, I have spent much of my life traveling and living across the globe. Before finding my slice of paradise here in the Catalan countryside, I spent years living, working, and immersing myself in the cultures of Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and even Saudi Arabia.

I am a graduate of Leeds University. During my academic years, I spent a wonderful period studying in Granada, which sparked my lifelong love for Spain. After graduating, I lived and worked in Valencia from 2004 to 2007, working briefly in real estate before retraining as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher—a profession that has allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life.

Alongside education, my other great passion is food. I spent years working in the catering industry, serving as a sous chef in multiple restaurants. After a brief period living back in Manchester, UK, I decided it was time to return to the Spanish sunshine and embrace a completely different pace of life. Six years ago, I moved here to establish this beautiful, off-grid ecological finca in La Fatarella.

At the same time, I am always around if you need a lift to the supermarkets, need help changing a gas bottle, or have any query.
