I met Gad in the context of his arrival at Madeira to purchase property.
Being a licensed Real Estate agent with past experience in the hotel industry, he sought my opinion on the likelihood of successful rental of the property that he has purchased.
I saw it prior to Gad's round of renovations and after it , and, I must admit, the transformation is nothing short of astounding.
If it's become evident to me in the dedication and devotion that are written all over the place, in all the restored elements etc., that this has been a true labour of love on his part.
He managed to convert a partially renovated, some (at least, 90 years old) traditional rustic, country, structure, consisting of numerous traditional elements, into an impressive and imposing, tastefully converted place, combining all the traditional and historical aspects, basalt stone walls etc., with modern conveniences and looks in a magical mix.
The very location with its breathtaking view of the Atlantic ocean below, the peace and quietness, the greenery and fruit trees is rare finding...
Visiting the place has left me with no alternative but to tell Gad that the place is beautiful and will be an excellent choice for those looking for a place in Madeira away from the hustle and bustle of city living. A good choice on his part, an attractive one for seekers of rural peace, that is close enough to shopping, restaurants and a majestic sandy, free beach.
I congratulated him on his choice, and told him that his choice and work are sure to bear the fruits he was hopping for.
On the personal level, I found him very friendly, caring and a trustworthy individual.
And I still stand firm by all those convictions.
