Balcony with stunning views over the Zêzere River and mountains. Table with benches, in front of the house, with olive tree. Possibility of creating a small vegetable garden or garden on land with fruit trees and olive trees 50 meters from the house, next to the river. River beach 200 meters away. Close to the Santa Luzia Dam and integrated into Aldeias do Xisto. It is located approximately 10 km from Pampilhosa da Serra. The village has a children's garden, church and panoramic cafe by the river. The natural beauty and tranquility are ideal for a life sharing with nature. A Casa do Rio começou por ser a nossa Casa de férias, numa aldeia que descobrimos e achamos paradisíaca. Gostamos que outras pessoas possam viver esta experiência de comunicação com a natureza e ,por isso, desde há 8 anos, recebemos hóspedes, arrendado a casa nos períodos em que a família não dispõe de férias. Sentimos uma grande satisfação quando a nossa Casa é vivida por outras pessoas que apreciam uma experiência num ambiente de aldeia.

We lack words to express what a wonderful experience we had in Janeiro de Baixo! Living in the property of Maria was a true joy, with all the prompt assistance she provided us whenever we needed.
The neighborhood was incredible, surrounded by green mountains and rivers and a quietness we had never seen before. It is a wonderful getaway to forget about the city life, to be submerged into nature and to engage with super friendly inhabitants of the village. We went with our children and the people reacted super welcoming towards them, frequently gifting us with extremely sweet fruit (figs, grapes, kakis, mandarins, etc) from their own gardens and backyards. Our experience was truly unforgettable!
It can get pretty cold in the fall as the winter months approach, but Maria was so helpful that she bought us a dryer for our clothes, since with the humidity they were unable to dry. She fetched for all the needs we had while living in her property, and carefully kept in contact with us to make sure we were helped in whatever necessary. When we met her and her husband in the beginning, they even drove us to the neighboring village to show us the people and the businesses and to get us acquainted with the area. They are truly lovely people and Janeiro de Baixo is a truly captivating place! It stole our hearts! We highly recommend it!
