Great location! You can walk to half the best places in Berlin, from museums to nightclubs. There are only two rooms in the flat, but both are spacious with high ceilings, so it doesn't feel cramped with two people. For a short holiday, more people would be fine using the sofa bed and emergency floor mattress.
It's a little expensive for the size, but it's comfortable and very convenient.
For those with little kids, it's pretty safe for a city apartment. The balcony has a high wall, and the bedroom window handles are well out of reach.
Neighborhood
It's on the boundary between two different types of neighbourhoods. When you leave the building if you turn left you'll get to up-market business addresses and shopping areas, go right and you'll find yourself in rougher and livelier Kreuzberg.
Even though it's not on a big street, from your balcony in the evening you might hear the occasional drunken reveller making his or her merry way home. Not enough to wake you up inside though, the windows are well made.
Not a threatening atmosphere at all, I always felt safe.

There's a museum close by that is about the history of Berlin, and it's free if you go on the right day. You can also cross over the river and get to the big Alex shopping centre with a brisk 15 minute walk. The Tresor nightclub, boasting a swimming pool!!? is a couple of blocks down the street. There are some nice quiet bars built into riverboats hiding away as well.
A couple of supermarkets are within 10 mins walk.
