House with patio and garden, located in Ribeira de Sintra, a small and quiet village 15 minutes by car from the beaches and 8 minutes by car or 20 minutes by foot from the historic center of Sintra from where buses leave for Castelo dos Mouros and to the Pena Palace. On the terrace you can relax to the sound of birds overlooking the beautiful and leafy Serra de Sintra.
The house is equipped with kitchen equipment, microwave, toaster, washing machine and Dolce Gusto coffee machine.
A few meters ahead you will find a café and a small grocery store.
At 1km there is a pharmacy, bakery, market and butcher as well as some local shops including 4 restaurants.
It has 100 and 300mts of buses to Sintra and the beaches.

House without stairs and acessible by straight way.
This house is also convenient for those who want to visit Lisbon, which is 30 min. by car or 40 min. by train and then come to sleep in a quiet, cooler place with the air of the mountains.

Casa da Rocha is a place with history because it was in this property, in 1836, that was born casually the first pear tree of a new quality of pear, the now so famous Pêra Rocha that owes its name to the then owner, Mr. António Rocha. From here it has spread all over the region of Sintra and then to the West region and around the world.

“In 1836, Mr. Pedro António Rocha by chance discovered a different pear tree on his property, Fazenda Rocha, which was located in Ribeira de Sintra, in the western region, near Lisbon.
Proud of having unique fruits and unusual quality, every year in September friends are invited to enjoy the pears. It was from this tree that the variety spread and gained fame. In honor of its owner, this rare fruit was renamed Pera Rocha.”

I lived and grew up in Lisbon but have been living in Sintra for 27 years. I know its wonders very well and I love living in the countryside. I really enjoy going to Lisbon on weekends when it's not so busy and it reminds me of the old Lisbon where I grew up. I love traveling and getting to know different places and cultures. I always try to discover less touristy places and talk to local people. Every trip I take is a lifelong learning experience. When I come back from a trip, I usually say "no one will ever take this memory from me!" Although I really like to go, I also like to come back. I really enjoy staying home, tending my garden and vegetable garden and doing my job as a hostess. It's a pleasure for me to receive guests! I'm a fan of books, cinema, musique and nature. I'm an optimist, cheerful and communicative and I try to make each day a special day.

Vivemos aqui durante 5 meses. A simpática Sra. Cristina ajudou-nos muito ao longo deste período. A casa é muito confortável, bonita e tranquila. Os vizinhos são muito amigáveis e a casa está bem equipada com tudo o que é necessário para o dia a dia.

Há um café ao lado onde é possível ver jogos de futebol; nos dias de jogo, costuma estar cheio, com muita gente. A poucos centenas de metros, há também um espaço para as crianças brincarem.

Foi uma experiência muito agradável e uma bela memória para nós.

How can I cancel my booking?

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.

Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!

However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the living space is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.

Do you have an approved booking and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your booking, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
