The apartment was exactly as pictured and described. It is in a very private and quiet courtyard shared with 3 other neighbors and a long way from the busy street in the location north of the Castelo de São Jorge, basically between Alfama and Graça. There are a LOT of steps to get to the apartment so anyone having mobility issues may wish to look for alternative accommodations. Owner Pedro is very easy to communicate with, and any immediate issues may often be addressed by one of the other apartment owners, José, who is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would return to this apartment any time, it was very good.
Neighborhood
This is a very old, winding and authentic neighborhood regarding how it is situated. There are a lot of places to eat and there are small markets of fresh local produce near the apartment. There are a lot of tourists which is to be expected, but once in the apartment all of that disappears. Note that there is very open drug use (crack pipes and weed smoking) which must be pretty normal here considering the frequency. However I didn't feel unsafe.

I LOVED staying here & I hope to come back the next time I’m in Lisbon! I highly recommend this place if it is your first time to Lisbon or you’ve been many times. It is in an amazing location & you are steps from the old town city center & waterfront. The courtyard is amazing and the space is even cuter than the pictures. This place made me fall in love with Lisbon! I can’t recommend it enough. The hosts were super helpful & kind when I needed assistance.
