Once you send a reservation request, the landlord is notified that you are interested in their offer. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your reservation.
Landlords are mainly interested in the profile of their tenant. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your reservation will more likely get approved.
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every offer. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.

How you can cancel a reservation varies depending on what stage the reservation is in.
Is your reservation request still waiting for landlord approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your reservation request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the reservation before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the landlord accepts your reservation, their property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved reservation and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your reservation, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).

However, while the flat was nice, we can’t say the same about the owners. We rented the place for 5 months with a cat, after an initial agreement in Flatio messages that we can stay with the cat if we pay 100€ more per month to cover any extra cleaning after our stay. We kept the apartment very clean, with monthly control visits so that the owners make sure that nothing was destroyed. At the end of the stay, the owners demanded that we pay extra for washing the duvets, pillows, the sofa, the windows, the balcony etc. (or that we do it ourselves which was impossible while still staying at the apartment) - once we mentioned that this should be covered from the extra 500€ which we payed throughout the stay, the owners pretended that they don’t know what we’re talking about and still demanded that we cover the additional cleaning. It was also very problematic to get in touch with them because the owners use a company to manage the flat so everything had to be passed through that company.
Summary: the flat and the management company are nice but beware of the owners, cause the only thing that we experienced is that they were greedy and were just looking to get extra money. We payed because we didn’t want to have any trouble but it shouldn’t look like that.
You live in the gated community. During our stay there were no parties in the bulding, was quite and peaceful.

Tasca da Lota, a cheap and cheerful but very delish grilled fish restaurant not too far. The restaurants at the marina are ok but a bit overpriced and very touristy. There's a Pingo Doce near by, but the InterMarche in town has a much, much better selection of goods and produce - for me it was worth a few extra minutes to shop there. The concierge at the InterMarche can arrange a taxi for you. Just nearby the InterMarche is a really great churrasco restaurant Restaurante Figueiras - excellent churrasco chicken, bacalao na bras and portuguese stews - which you can take away as well.
It has fast internet, a large smart TV, allocated parking and an incredible balcony with a comfortable sofas and a large dining area. Everything I needed for a month in Portugal!
