Flora and fauna
The accommodation is located in the Montseny Valley (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve) 45 km from Barcelona and Girona.

Montseny is a northern massif isolated from the Catalan pre-coastal cordillera. It includes an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna as it is located in the transition zone between the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions, with very well conserved Cork Oak, Holm Oak, Beech, Chestnut, Pine and even Fir forests, giving way to vast grasslands in the highlands.

The numerous water courses are bordered by riparian forests of Aspen, Willow, Hazelnut and Ash trees. Among the fauna, together with other Mediterranean species, there are species that are characteristic of Central-European ecosystems, such as the Edible Door-mouse, the European Green Lizard or the Aesculapian Snake, and high mountain species such as the Pyrenean Brook Salamander and the European Common Frog. The entomological fauna is also very varied with a rich diversity of butterfly species.

Barcelona and Girona are accessible in a 40 minute ride by the highway or 50 minutes by train.

Barcelona will welcome you with its history which is one of the oldest in Europe, buzzing nightlife, charming beaches and a wide variety of artistic treasures, the Romanesque churches and the greatest names in modern art and architecture such as Dali, Gaudi, Miro or Picasso to name a few.

In this stay, nature and the rolling green mountains are literally at the doorstep. - by train: direct train R2N to Palautordera (around 1:25h), then there is a shuttle bus from Palautordera do St. Esteve de Palautordera where you get off. The hosts can also pick you up from the train station
