How does the move-in process work?

The article was updated on 13. 6. 2024.

In this article, you can find out what happens during your move-in, and see our recommendations for avoiding misunderstandings down the road.

In addition to physically receiving the keys, you also sign the handover protocol which is an important part of a proper move-in process. The protocol provides a record of the property's condition during the handover, including any defects and the current state of electricity, gas, and water consumption.

We provide a template of the protocol to all hosts. Since the protocol serves as a protection for both contractual sides, feel free to remind the host about this step before you meet up in case they forget about it, and insist that the protocol gets signed. Then, if you find even defects in the property, you can add it to the handover protocol so it's officially recorded in case of potential disagreements down the road.

Also, don't forget to take pictures of the accommodation which will support the property's condition stated in the protocol.

If we don't hear from you regarding a Move-in Guarantee claim, we will send the 1st rental payment to your host 3 days after your move-in date according to the lease, when we can safely assume everything's in order. In case you'd like to speed up this process, you can send us an email at [email protected] and confirm a smooth handover. If we receive such a message from you, we will forward the rent to the host on the next working day after receiving the confirmation.
