Did you receive a reservation request that doesn't completely suit you, so you'd like to propose another solution? Read how to handle this below.
Can I offer alternative terms to a potential tenant?
If you receive a reservation request that doesn't fit your needs and you'd like to propose any change, it's necessary to reject the reservation first and adjust your listing's settings accordingly. For example:
- if the property is actually unavailable on the given dates, you should update the listing's availability, or
- if the prices weren't accurate, you should adjust the pricing accordingly.
Once everything is in order, you can contact the potential tenant via Messages in the My Rentals app and explain the situation to them. If they're okay with the changes you've made, they can always create a new reservation request with the new conditions, and you can then accept it.
NOTE: It's important that you always keep your listing up-to-date. Any unauthorized rejection (i.e., rejection due to incorrect settings) causes your listing to drop in our listing feed, decreasing its visibility to potential tenants.
