Curious about the possibility of direct cash payments? Below, you can learn in what cases we allow this and how it all works.
Can guests pay in cash?
Cash is not a standard payment method on Flatio. All rent payments should be made through the standard online methods — by credit/debit card via the payment gateway or by bank transfer. These methods are safer and ensure that everything is correctly recorded in the system.
Only in rare emergency situations, where the guest is temporarily unable to use any online payment method, it may be possible to accept a cash payment as an absolute last resort. However, cash payments are never acceptable for the first month's rent. The first rental payment must always be paid online within 24 hours after you approve the booking request as part of the contractual process.
If an emergency situation arises and a guest needs to pay in cash for a subsequent month, please contact our Support team at [email protected] before accepting the payment. We will manually mark the payment in the system as paid. The Host fee for this payment will then be deducted from the following rent.
If there is no other rent payment, or the amount of the new payment does not cover the Host fee due, then you will have to pay the Host fee to us directly. We will bill you for this in the next monthly statement.
